Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Medicaid Eligibility Advocate to join HCA Florida Memorial Hospital. As part of a team devoted to community impact—with over 156,000 volunteer hours logged last year—you will help patients navigate insurance benefits and financial assistance. Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm. Join our organization and unlock your potential!

Key Responsibilities

  • Screen and evaluate patients for existing insurance coverage, federal and state assistance programs, or hospital charity applications.
  • Re-verify benefits and obtain authorization and/or referral after treatment plan discussion, ensuring appropriate signatures on all necessary forms.
  • Obtain legally relevant medical evidence, physician statements, and all documentation required for eligibility determination.
  • Complete and file applications; initiate and maintain follow-up with patients and government agency caseworkers for timely processing.
  • Ensure all insurance, demographic, and eligibility information is accurately entered; document progress notes in patient files and hospital systems.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs and follow office policies and procedures, assisting with other functions as needed.
  • Conduct field visits as necessary (reliable personal transportation required).

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year related experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Relevant education may substitute the experience requirement.
