Job Description
Position Overview
The AMS IT Service Operations team at ByteDance manages the IT and AV infrastructure across offices to ensure a seamless, secure, and efficient technology experience. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Low Voltage Operation Engineer to optimize the performance, reliability, and security of our data center infrastructure by managing and maintaining IT Data Hall / Data Centers while implementing innovative solutions for business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Center Operations (40%): Manage the operation and maintenance of IT Data Hall/Data Centers, including power systems, HVAC/Air Conditioning, and network infrastructure. Formulate and implement renovation and upgrade plans.
- Performance Metrics (20%): Establish and achieve KPIs and SLAs while developing business continuity plans to minimize downtime.
- Emergency Preparedness (15%): Develop and execute emergency response plans, conduct drills, perform risk assessments, and implement change management procedures.
- Vendor Management (10%): Coordinate with vendors and external resources to complete engineering, maintenance, and outsourcing tasks in compliance with company policies.
- System Maintenance (10%): Inspect, maintain, and manage low voltage systems including structured cabling, UPS/EPS, distribution cabinets, and precision air conditioning; perform hardware diagnostics and support auxiliary equipment lifecycle processes.
- Innovation and Research (5%): Stay informed on best practices and emerging technologies, researching and proposing solutions to optimize data center efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in data center operations or IT distributed data room management.
- Experience in maintaining power systems (high and low voltage), air conditioning, HVAC, and structured cabling systems.
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of data center equipment, including UPS/EPS, distribution cabinets, and precision air conditioning.
- Proven ability to manage vendors and ensure compliance with operational and company standards.
- Strong sense of responsibility, capability to handle pressure, and excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Proficiency in documenting processes and maintaining detailed event logs.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA ServerPlus, CompTIA Network, or CCNA certification.
- Experience in data center planning, design, and engineering implementation.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve errors efficiently.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and collaboration with software and network engineering teams.
- Willingness to respond to network and server issues after hours as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
