Packaging Operator - Entry Level

Position Overview

The Packaging Operator - Entry Level position for a Medical Device Company in San Diego, CA is a contract opportunity lasting 12 Months and requiring 40.00 Hours/week during the 1st shift (approximately 8–5ish). The role involves manual inspection, labeling, and packaging of clinical and commercial products while ensuring compliance with quality specifications and internal procedures. Employment is offered on a contract basis as W2 (Need US Citizens or GC Holders Only).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform manual inspection, labeling, and packaging of clinical and commercial products.
• Ensure finished products are packaged in accordance with procedures and quality specifications.
• Inspect in-process packaging and components to remove defective products and materials.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of manufacturing activities (device history records, inventory counts).
• Perform basic mathematical calculations to support batch record completion.
• Assist with inventory counting activities as needed.
• Participate in safety audits and engage in daily safety discussions and observations.
• Conduct routine cleaning of the packaging station and processing equipment.
• Adhere to personal protective equipment and contamination control (gowning) requirements.
• Handle hazardous waste appropriately.

Required Qualifications

• Strong time management, multi-tasking, and communication skills (must be highlighted on the resume).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of industry work experience.
• Exceptional attention to detail and good documentation practices.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including potential rotating shifts and overtime.
• Familiarity with computers and general business software.
• Capability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
