Junior Cloud Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Cloud Engineer to help design and support the implementation of strategies that optimize cloud performance and reliability across servers, networks, and supporting infrastructure. In this role, you will analyze system operations, actively monitor cloud utilization, and contribute to continuous process enhancements that ensure a robust, efficient cloud environment while achieving six sigma levels of reliability and resiliency.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply the principles of “cloud native” development as described in “The Twelve-Factor App” (https//12factor.net) through a systematic engineering approach to design, architecture, development, operation, and use of cloud technologies for mission solutions.
• Leverage software-, platform-, and infrastructure-as-a-service to deliver GEOINT solutions.
• Ensure optimum efficiencies for the utilization of cloud services.
• Integrate systems by creating new Application Program Interfaces (API’s).
• Create and maintain automated software deployment pipelines using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM field; or up to 6 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer in lieu of a degree.
• Junior-level (0 to 6 years) experience in government or industry supporting or leading cloud-based systems engineering efforts.
• Experience using Jenkins CI/CD.
• Experience using GitLab.
• Experience using JavaScript.
• TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI clearance and pass a polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more Cloud Certifications.
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate.
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
• Cloud Foundry Developer.
• Experience in scripting/automation via PowerShell, VBscript, AutoIT, Python, or similar.
