Position Overview
Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician specializing in Oncology in the St. Mattews area with a Full Time/First Shift schedule. In this role, you will be responsible for the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of a physician. You will obtain patient medical history, expedite patient flow, room patients, stock the clinic with supplies, navigate the EPIC electronic health record system, schedule appointments and follow-ups (including prior authorizations, tests, procedures, and consultations), and communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients, and physicians while upholding Baptist’s mission and core values.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the coordination and flow of patients throughout their visit to create an exceptional patient experience.
- Proactively check the provider’s schedule and review patient records to ensure all required information is available prior to the visit.
- Obtain any missing information from patients to keep medical records accurate and up to date.
- Capture patients’ vital signs, past medical, social and family history, medication usage, and preferred pharmacy information upon arrival.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements including HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills with experience navigating databases containing highly confidential information.
- Basic Life Support certification and other advanced training as appropriate.
