Job Description

Position Overview

The Wheel Tire Vehicle Vibrates While Driving (VVWD) / NVH Engineer at Ford is responsible for providing expert technical support for diagnosing and resolving VVWD and NVH quality issues across all vehicle lines globally. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated technical support to the program Application teams and Vehicle Engineering (VE) Team for VVWD and NVH quality issues.
  • Work with Vehicle Operations, Vehicle Engineering, and the Wheels, Tires, Jacks and Ornaments (WTJO) Core teams to develop assembly requirements that deliver VVWD and NVH quality improvements and robustness.
  • Develop objective assembly test methods to support uniformity cascades.
  • Develop the supplier and Vehicle Operations technical and manufacturing capabilities to meet assembly uniformity targets.
  • Develop and maintain internal Global quality documents (e.g. DFMEA) to meet Ford Motor Company requirements.
  • Support the development of generic Core documents (e.g., Functional Specifications, Design Rules, quality documents) as it relates to VVWD/NVH.
  • Review warranty information and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Serve as the global point of contact for all assembly technical topics related to VVWD/NVH.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or 5+ years of demonstrated understanding and application of DOE techniques.
  • Willingness to travel to global Ford manufacturing sites and supplier facilities for on-site reviews and issue resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in writing macros (e.g., Excel VBA) to aid in the automation of engineering tools.
  • Understanding of program timing deliverables and familiarity with Ford engineering tools including Teamcenter/3DX and buck environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Self-starting and detail oriented with a zero-defect mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively within a globally diverse team and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Experience in communicating with senior leaders, design and release teams, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Effective coaching and mentoring skills.

Additional Information

  • Compensation: Salary grades 5-8.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States with verification required at the time of hire.
  • This is a hybrid position; candidates within commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
