Job Description

Position Overview

Gecko Robotics is helping the world’s most important organizations ensure the availability, reliability, and sustainability of critical infrastructure. With wall-climbing robots, industry-leading sensors, and an AI-powered data platform, they provide a unique window into the current and future health of physical assets. As a Facilities Specialist, you will be crucial in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility systems—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building safety equipment—to support a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to facility systems and equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all systems meet safety standards and work with EHS to address potential hazards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and safety inspections using Jira.
  • Project Coordination & Collaboration: Coordinate with external contractors/vendors and support internal departments with facility needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Emergency Response: Be available to respond to facility emergencies outside of regular hours.
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for janitorial, pest control, and maintenance vendors.
  • Perform daily facility walkthroughs to identify and update issues, manage supplies, and support event setups.
  • Assist with employee requests, package distribution, and updating management on any blockers.
  • Travel as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; additional technical training/certification in facilities maintenance is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Facilities Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building safety systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift up to 50lbs.
