Position Overview
Gecko Robotics is helping the world’s most important organizations ensure the availability, reliability, and sustainability of critical infrastructure. With wall-climbing robots, industry-leading sensors, and an AI-powered data platform, they provide a unique window into the current and future health of physical assets. As a Facilities Specialist, you will be crucial in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility systems—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building safety equipment—to support a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to facility systems and equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all systems meet safety standards and work with EHS to address potential hazards.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and safety inspections using Jira.
- Project Coordination & Collaboration: Coordinate with external contractors/vendors and support internal departments with facility needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Emergency Response: Be available to respond to facility emergencies outside of regular hours.
- Act as the on-site point of contact for janitorial, pest control, and maintenance vendors.
- Perform daily facility walkthroughs to identify and update issues, manage supplies, and support event setups.
- Assist with employee requests, package distribution, and updating management on any blockers.
- Travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; additional technical training/certification in facilities maintenance is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Facilities Specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building safety systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift up to 50lbs.
