Position Overview

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for acquiring, structuring, and negotiating third‐party contracts for computer hardware and software products and services. This role serves as a Procurement subject matter expert, partnering with business leaders to optimize financial and operational benefits, and collaborating with risk managers to mitigate associated risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning, and quality control of production materials and related purchases.
  • Establishes policies and procedures to ensure the economy and quality of equipment, materials, and services purchased.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs and streamline processes.
  • Conducts comprehensive market analysis to determine vendor sources and product development opportunities.
  • Coordinates global procurement efforts ensuring the availability of materials and maintaining inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
  • Negotiates and awards cost-effective contractual purchase agreements with vendors.
  • Reviews financial reports of procurement activity and recommends improvements in methods and procedures.
  • Engages with vendor representatives to discuss price changes, trade and cash discounts, and delivery arrangements.
  • Provides effective leadership through hiring, performance appraisals, employee development, and addressing employee relations issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience, with typically 5+ years in supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of supply chain functions, procurement procedures, and project management methods.
  • Proven ability to supervise, lead, and manage staff effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging both technical and non‐technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving, team, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience in evaluating performance and providing developmental or corrective feedback.
  • Ability to project future expenses based on analysis of past cost effectiveness.
  • Capability to operate independently.
