Position Overview

In this role, you will develop and execute architecture strategy, design enterprise-level applications, and offer expert security solutions to meet today’s and tomorrow’s energy challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply principles, theories, and professional concepts with seasoned expertise.
  • Provide recommendations beyond standard procedures and exercise sound judgment on solution methods.
  • Exercise wide latitude in decision-making impacting projects or departmental outcomes.
  • Act as a resource and occasionally lead lower-level professionals or support staff.
  • Represent the department on projects, sometimes in a leadership role.
  • Develop the ERCOT Cyber Security Architecture Strategy and serve as the subject matter expert in information security.
  • Partner with stakeholders to securely meet business functional requirements and design effective security solutions.
  • Analyze complex architectures to identify design gaps and recommend security enhancements.
  • Review security policies and standards to ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Consult on projects, providing technical expertise for applications, databases, and system technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing security solutions for enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of networking, encryption algorithms (e.g., IPSEC, AES, MD5, SHA, 3DES), and system integration.
  • Familiarity with intranet, extranet, Internet, and network connectivity concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISA, ISSAP, SANS GIAC or equivalent.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
  • Experience in critical infrastructure security within the energy sector.
