Position Overview
Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals—from doctors and nurses to tech experts and researchers—to advance its mission of delivering exceptional patient care, research, teaching, and community service. The Slabicki and Miller Lab at the MGH Krantz Family Center for Cancer Research is expanding the druggable proteome to improve treatments for patients with myelodysplastic syndromes and leukemia. Collaborating closely with various MGH departments and the Cancer Program at the Broad Institute, our team seeks a highly motivated, exceptionally organized, and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills for a full-time position with potential for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the analysis of biological data using bioinformatics tools and software.
- Perform data processing, quality control, and database maintenance.
- Collaborate with research teams to understand their data analysis needs.
- Support the development and implementation of data analysis pipelines.
- Conduct basic statistical analyses and data visualization.
- Participate in the interpretation and presentation of results.
- Apply independent design and innovation in areas such as algorithm development, quality assurance, and software/report development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computational Biology (or a related field)or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience with open-source bioinformatics software and programming languages.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with strong time management and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, or a related field is preferred.
- 0-1 year of computational sciences experience preferred.
