Position Overview

Location: Full Remote, Indiana (USA). The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft plays a central role in the innovation process by focusing on key future technologies and bridging cutting‐edge research with practical industrial applications. For over 35 years, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology in Berlin has demonstrated excellence in production science, combining scientific insights with real-world industrial challenges. In the Extended Reality department, research into AR and VR solutions supports engineers in complex tasks and enables application-oriented advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide scientific support for projects and assist with the preparation and follow-up of user studies in extended reality, offering insights into application-oriented research and shaping innovative industrial applications.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in human factors, human-computer interaction (HCI), or a similar field
• Practical experience in designing and conducting user studies
• Knowledge of scientific methodologies, including initial experience with Citavi and Latex/Overleaf
• Ability to work independently to solve complex tasks
• Proficiency in German and/or English

Preferred Qualifications

• Initial experience in working with AR/VR applications
• Interest in UI/UX and front-end development in Unity
