Position Overview
JRG Partners is partnering with a globally recognized, market-leading Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company to find a visionary Vice President of Supply Chain Strategy. Key Responsibilities
- Design and champion a comprehensive 5-10 year supply chain strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals, emphasizing agility, resilience, sustainability, and customer centricity.
- Conduct a rigorous analysis of the existing supply chain network—including manufacturing footprints, distribution centers, and transportation lanes—to optimize service levels, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of next-generation supply chain technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, robotic process automation (RPA), and advanced analytics for enhanced end-to-end visibility.
- Evolve and mature the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to tightly integrate commercial forecasts, production capacity, and inventory strategies.
- Implement sophisticated cost-to-serve models to drive strategic decisions regarding network flow, inventory placement, and commercial policies.
- Develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce carbon footprint, minimize waste, and promote ethical sourcing while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Establish a robust risk management framework with proactive mitigation and contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
- Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, R&D, and IT to support new product introductions, promotional activities, and market expansion plans.
- Leverage industry intelligence and insights to maintain a competitive edge in supply chain trends and innovation.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of strategists, analysts, and project managers.
- Prepare and present strategic plans, performance reviews, and project updates to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role focused on strategy, network design, or transformation. Experience Required: 15+ years
- Significant experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Food & Beverage, or related fast-paced consumer-facing industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and successfully implementing large-scale, multi-year supply chain strategies that deliver measurable improvements in cost, service, and agility.
- Deep expertise in network modeling, S&OP processes, inventory management, and logistics.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in developing business cases, managing budgets, and understanding the P&L impact of supply chain decisions.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategic insights.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or an advanced degree in a relevant field is highly preferred.
- Experience leading digital transformation initiatives and implementing advanced supply chain technologies (e.g., TMS, WMS, advanced planning systems, data analytics platforms).
- Certification such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or SCOR-P is a plus.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills with the ability to build consensus and drive change within large, matrixed organizations.
