Position Overview
Position: Data Center Field Technician
Contract:

BuffaloAs a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for resolving hardware and infrastructure (servers, storage, and network) issues using system analysis techniques in support of data centers.
Compensation: The base pay range provided represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within IT infrastructure including Multi OEM Enterprise systems, servers, storage, and networking.
- Understand a Data Center IT Operations environment and use software tools to perform day-to-day functions and troubleshooting.
- Perform high volume/low impact tasks efficiently and knowledgeably.
- Provide installation and break/fix support, including component replacement and hardware troubleshooting, while following detailed instructions.
- Perform clearly defined data center support tasks with remote guidance.
- Demonstrate hands-on practical knowledge of systems and procedures.
- Manage operational tasks including resolving escalations and clearing blocking issues to ensure continuous data center support activities.
- When assigned as a resident, perform additional tasks as directed by the local customer in alignment with the specific Statement of Work.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid "Real ID" driver license, car insurance, and mailing address; must provide own transportation to and from work location.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow procedures for component-level repairs using ESD best practices.
- Good understanding of the general and technical aspects of the job.
- Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized with the ability to document daily activities.
- Ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with management, peers, and customers at all levels.
- Capable of working both independently and within a team structure.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- A basic understanding of storage theory, server layout, and network concepts.
- 1-3 years of technical experience.
