Position Overview
Boston College Athletics is seeking a Football Creative Content video and graphic designer responsible for creating dynamic digital content for the Boston College Football program. Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Creative Services, the role oversees the entire video production process—including creative strategy, storyboarding, capturing, editing, and impact analysis—while also providing graphic design support for external marketing and team support needs. The position supplies content for BC’s athletics website, social media channels, and supports coaches, the program, and media with approved programming and creative assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Video Content Creation: Film and edit video content—including highlights, player interviews, behind‐the‐scenes footage, promotional videos, and fan engagement content—for various platforms.
- Game Day Video and Photography: Capture live-action video and photos during home games, including in-game shots and fan engagement; assist with pre-game and post-game photography for social media and marketing usage.
- Event Coverage: Document team-related events such as community outreach programs, press conferences, and fan meet-and-greet sessions through photo and video content.
- Post-Production Editing: Edit photos and videos for social media, the team website, and other marketing materials while ensuring timely delivery for campaigns and events.
- Creative Collaboration: Work alongside marketing, social media, and football teams to develop visually engaging content that aligns with team branding and promotional goals.
- Fan Engagement: Capture candid moments of fan interactions to create digital campaigns that enhance the overall fan experience.
- Player Profiles & Features: Produce video and photo features that highlight players’ personalities, routines, and off-the-field activities for marketing purposes.
- B-Roll & Archival Footage: Maintain a library of high-quality B-roll footage and photos for future video projects, sponsorship activations, and marketing materials.
- Equipment Management: Assist with the setup, maintenance, and organization of photography and video equipment during games and events.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in video production, journalism, public relations, communications, sports management, or a related field.
- Experience in EFP/remote sports production including equipment setup.
- Advanced proficiency in Premiere Pro with hands-on experience using DSLR and Cinema-style cameras; working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Expertise in video lighting, composition, non-linear editing on the MAC platform, and motion graphics compositing.
- Experience working in a college athletic department or professional sports team (football preferred) in video production or communications.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with strong attention to detail, proactive planning, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with the physical ability to lift heavy equipment.
Compensation
- Development Hiring Range (5+ years of experience): $63,800 - $79,750
- Development Hiring Range (1-5 years of experience): $58,000 - $72,000
