We are seeking an experienced Associate Electrical Engineer to join our growing Engineering and Design team in Tampa, FL. In this role, you’ll support our Distributed Energy Resources (DER) clients by delivering high-quality, innovative solutions from concept through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and train project engineers, allocate engineering resources, and conduct performance reviews.
- Project & Design Management: Lead the design and implementation of electrical projects—including building distribution systems, lighting, emergency power, and medium-voltage campus systems—and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
- Technical Excellence & Standards Development: Develop and maintain technical standards, provide clear design direction, support junior engineers, and stay current with industry trends.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong client relationships, coordinate with utility providers and regulatory authorities, and engage in strategic initiatives.
- Project Oversight & Financial Accountability: Collaborate with estimating and construction teams to optimize project budgets and participate in all phases of project planning and execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Professional Engineer registration with the ability to acquire licensure in additional states.
- 8 to 10 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering in the built environment, including 3–5 years in project management and 1–3 years in people management.
- Experience in the design and construction of commercial and light industrial electrical systems, emergency power systems, low voltage systems, and medium-voltage campus distribution systems.
- Ability to evaluate power systems and perform studies for arc flash, short circuit current, coordination, underground cable thermals, grounding, and load flow analysis.
- Medium-Voltage (15 kV and below) design experience is required; protective relaying experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical analysis software (SKM, EasyPower, ETAP, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with efficient time management and multitasking abilities.
- Experience developing engineering fee proposals, resource plans, and performing financial analysis of projects.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $120,510 – $184,410 per year, with potential bonuses and a full range of additional benefits.
