Position Overview

This Graphic Designer position is responsible for creating computer‐generated full‐color graphics and/or vinyl output that can be weeded, cut, and applied or printed and mounted to a substrate. The role involves various levels of artistic creativity to transform customer drawings, files, or provided designs into final output for media. Scheduling is flexible to accommodate both the employee’s and the company’s needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize tasks and work autonomously.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Be accountable for the expected workload.
• Determine the best output method based on the customer’s needs.
• Read, interpret, and allocate appropriate time to a Work Order.
• Collaborate with co-workers and customers using file transfers, FTP access, online proofs, and photo library options.
• Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout per available space, aesthetic design, and production requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive illustrations, sketches, layouts, and copy for print reproduction as instructed by the client or supervisor.
• Inspect jobs for accuracy before output to ensure the correct material and device settings are used.
• Maintain the customer logo library and convert graphic files appropriately.
• Source images by locating photos, understanding copyright laws and release/usage requirements, and working with vendors or service bureaus for output beyond store capability.
• Provide proofs for customer approval as necessary.
• Maintain an accurate electronic record of file storage following brand standards.
• Communicate with Sales/Service members, Production teams, and management regarding job requirements, timing, and inventory needs.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
• Participate in and promote the brand mentality of “Everybody Sells” by seeking sales opportunities for the center.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to sit for long periods.
• Ability to view a computer screen for extended periods.
• Ability to work under pressure to deliver high volume, high-quality work.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
