Position Overview
Energy Storage Project Finance Analyst (Analyst to Associate level) – FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA). This is an opportunity to join an industry leading renewable energy venture with strong private equity backing focused on the development, execution, and operations of dynamic utility‐scale energy storage projects. The role requires strong commercial acumen and a solid ability to quickly master the financial nuances of utility-scale renewables development, EPC, and operational transactions. The incumbent will tailor their communication of key project finance initiatives to various stakeholders in an easy-to-understand format.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with SMEs across the organization on financial modeling initiatives at the project and strategic levels supporting utility‐scale battery storage projects across ISOs/RTOs nationwide.
- Take full ownership of the financial models associated with renewable project off-take, bidding, DEBT/ EQUITY STRUCTURING, project sales, and tax incentive strategies.
- Partner with key stakeholders to create and implement financial analysis and forecasting tools for corporate financing, capital market requirements, FP&A, and renewable project financing assessments.
- Optimize the company's financial analytic processes and help mitigate risk by constantly reviewing industry macroeconomic trends (interest rates, tax law changes, and evolving finance structures) in the renewables sector and U.S. power markets.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated project finance experience supporting Power, Renewables, Capital Market, or Energy Infrastructure transactions.
- STRONG PROJECT FINANCE MODELING expertise in Microsoft Excel along with experience in DEBT/ EQUITY STRUCTURING.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex analytical models in an understandable format to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to participate (or quickly learn to participate) in advanced discussions in utility-scale renewables (solar, wind, storage), transmission, and battery storage sectors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with complex debt equity structures, tax equity transactions, and/or advanced project finance deal execution is STRONGLY preferred.
- Familiarity with national energy power markets (PJM, ERCOT, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO) is beneficial but not required.
