Business Applications Analyst - RPA Developer - Life Company

Position Overview

USAA is seeking a highly motivated Business Applications Analyst I (Mid-Level) - RPA Developer for the Life Company's Process Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will architect, develop, and implement innovative robotic process automation solutions that transform business processes, reduce manual effort, and drive efficiency across the organization. You will lead a team of third-party contractor developers and collaborate with diverse stakeholders while upholding USAA’s values of honesty, integrity, loyalty, and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluates business needs and reviews system requirements for accuracy while bridging the gap between business users and technical developers.
• Collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and identify opportunities related to application/IT platform solutions.
• Provides intermediate to complex analysis to support planning, system upgrades, and changes in business processes.
• Documents business requirements and supports the testing and implementation of new or modified systems.
• Reviews new or upgraded application functionality with business partners, ensuring appropriate training and procedural updates.
• Coordinates business and IT support, analyzing discrepancies and system failures.
• Facilitates resolution activities, informs leadership of business implications, and recommends measures to mitigate risks.
• Maintains a strong understanding of business processes, supporting applications, and the strategic direction of the organization.
• Collaborates with team members, stakeholders, and information services to identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities.
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled according to compliance policies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience in statistics, mathematics, or quantitative analytics (8 years total experience required without a degree).
• At least 4 years of experience analyzing IT business processes, software application/IT platform design, and IT documentation with a working knowledge of IT operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of application/IT platform administration and the software development life cycle, including effective testing execution.
• Experience in developing and maintaining documentation for workflows, business requirements, and technical functionalities of IT applications.
• Knowledge of risk and controls with experience in identifying gaps, documenting controls, and performing control testing.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Successful completion of an analyst assessment may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• US military experience through service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing and implementing RPA solutions using Automation Anywhere 360.
• Experience with Flowable, Salesforce technologies, and process mining tools.
• Demonstrated experience in leading the design, development, and implementation of RPA solutions, including managing third-party contractor developers and ensuring adherence to SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on developing resilient code.
• Excellent communication skills for effective cross-collaboration with various business units.
• Experience with automation in financial services and highly regulated environments, including familiarity with management tools such as Jira.

• Compensation Range: $81,890 - $147,390. Actual salary is determined based on experience and market data.
