In this role, the Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for market participants; communicating to resolve questions and issues regarding ERCOT grid and market operations, facilitating discussions between market participants and ERCOT teams, and educating on market rules, processes, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities: Demonstrate leadership in collaborative problem solving by facilitating resolution of market participants' day-to-day ERCOT markets and grid operations issues.
  • Responsibilities: Assist market participants in meeting registration and qualification requirements.
  • Responsibilities: Provide guidance and advice regarding ERCOT market rules, processes, and procedures while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Responsibilities: Establish, grow, and maintain positive business relationships between ERCOT and assigned market participants.
  • Responsibilities: Support and encourage team members to achieve high standards in professionalism, client interaction, and personal development.
  • Responsibilities: Assist with projects and process improvements to resolve business issues and enhance ERCOT's internal functions.
  • Responsibilities: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation, procedures, and training materials for Client Services personnel.
  • Responsibilities: Identify opportunities and assist in designing and delivering market education training to market participants.
  • Responsibilities: Develop and share expertise in ERCOT markets and grid operations.
  • Responsibilities: Coordinate stakeholder processes to support both ERCOT and market participants.
  • Responsibilities: Maintain and expand knowledge of ERCOT market protocols, operations, and business functions while acting as a liaison on a wide range of subjects.
  • Responsibilities: Apply ERCOT protocols and business procedures consistently with all market participants under strict confidentiality.
  • Responsibilities: Guide communication between market participants and various ERCOT departments to promote effective interdepartmental collaborations and mutual team goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience Required: Level 2 – Requires a minimum of 2 years of job-related work experience (in addition to degree requirements) and experience in the electric utility industry with an advanced understanding of competitive electric markets and the operation of an interconnected transmission and distribution system.
  • Experience Required: Sr. Level – Requires a minimum of 5 years of job-related work experience (in addition to degree requirements) with significant experience in the electric utility industry and advanced understanding of competitive electric markets and system operations.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Qualifications: Knowledge of electric grid operations.
  • Qualifications: Experience and knowledge in wholesale and retail electricity markets.
  • Qualifications: Understanding of the financial settlement process in electricity markets.
  • Qualifications: Client services and/or account management experience in the power industry.
  • Qualifications: Proficiency with Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook).

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary: $75,273 - $127,931
  • Location: Taylor, TX – Employees are required to be on-site a minimum of 2 days per week; remote work must be performed from your Texas residence; on-site schedules are flexible and may be rotated based on business needs.
  • Schedule: Flexible on-site scheduling as determined by management, with options to work on-site more frequently if desired.
