Position Overview

Lockheed Martin’s Ground Missile Defense Engineer roles offer you the opportunity to work on a critical component of our nation’s defense. As part of the team stationed in Huntsville, Alabama, you will help process sensor data to identify inbound missile threats, plan the best defensive solutions, and launch intercepting missiles. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate Ground Missile Defense systems that process sensor data to identify threats and plan defensive intercepts.
• Serve in one of the multi-level positions: Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Software Developer, or Cyber Systems Engineer.
• Collaborate with peers to continuously enhance the system’s performance and reliability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant engineering experience.
• Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Proficiency in programming languages including C, C++, Java, Python, Ada, GoLang, Cython, Bash, Javascript, SQL, and MongoDB.
• Experience with recent GMD GS/GWS model development and working in an Agile environment.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools (Bitbucket or GitHub), Windows/Unix OS, and Object Oriented programming for embedded systems.
• Ability to write and review code in Ada, C++, Java, and Python along with verifying system-level software requirements.
• Experience in Reliability & Maintainability Engineering and a Security+ Certification or higher.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, and CI/CD processes.
• Strong technical writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills; capable of working independently or as part of a team.
