At Fugees Family, we're on a mission to advance educational justice for refugee students and English Language Learners. Our school model addresses a pressing need not currently met by traditional public education systems - the education of newcomer (refugee and immigrant) students in an environment where their unique identities and needs are welcomed and understood.

The Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our Advancement Team as a Social Media and Marketing Manager. Reporting to the Communications Director, the ideal candidate will be passionate about our mission, possess a deep understanding of social media platforms, and have experience developing and executing effective marketing strategies. In addition to supporting communications efforts, the Social Media and Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in fundraising by reaching new donors and increasing donations.

Your Responsibilities:

• Social Media Strategy:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive organic and paid social media strategy to increase brand visibility, boost engagement, and drive fundraising initiatives.
  • Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video, written) across various platforms, ensuring alignment with program priorities and fundraising goals.
• Content Creation:
  • Work with the Communications Director to produce high-quality, engaging content that resonates with our target audiences, including new and existing donors..
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
• Community Engagement:
  • Build and nurture relationships with our online community, fostering a sense of connection and investment in Fugees Family's mission.
  • Leverage social media to promote donation drives and engage with potential donors.
• Marketing Campaigns:
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns that not only raise awareness but also drive donations.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director to ensure consistency in messaging across all channels.
• Fundraising Initiatives:
  • Actively contribute to the development and execution of fundraising strategies to attract new donors and increase donation amounts.
  • Use social media as a tool to amplify the impact of donor contributions and showcase the tangible outcomes of their support.
• Analytics and Reporting:
  • Monitor and analyze social media and marketing performance related to fundraising, providing regular reports and insights.
  • Use data to refine strategies, optimize campaigns, and identify new opportunities for donor engagement.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree: in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in a social media, marketing, or communications environment
• Proven experience: managing social media accounts and executing successful marketing campaigns with a focus on fundraising.
• Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical skills: Strong understanding of social media analytics and reporting
• Creative mindset: with the ability to think outside the box.
• Passion: for social impact and a commitment to the mission of Fugees Family.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Project management skills: Excellent project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and discipline to organize, prioritize, and complete projects expeditiously, proactively, and often with short deadlines

• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a high-paced and dynamic environment

• Eligibility: Citizenship, residency or work VISA in the United States required

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of current digital trends
• Proficiency in photo and video editing and design softwares (e.g. Canva, Indesign, Photoshop)
• Experience with SEO and SEM strategy and keyword research
• Understanding of website analytics tools, such as Google Analytics
• Familiarity with education or immigration-focused non-profit communications
• Analytical mind, with a passion for measuring data

Salary and Benefits

Salary range: $45,000-$50,000 BOE
